Couldn't they start off with a NORMAL looking doll?!!!

Like many people have pointed out, NOBODY in his right mind would purchase THAT for their pregnant wife, collector or not (unless she was a Pagan/Gothic/Wiccan whack job, which would make a different/better scary movie).

In any case, anyone who says "they HAD to because they got stuck with the doll design used in The Conjuring" hasn't seen Child's Play with Chucky. I mean the doll LOOKS normal when Chucky relaxes, and only looks "possessed" when he acts up, making it plausible for a child to like such a doll.

Conduit or whatever, the doll should have looked NORMAL at first and then over time becoming uglier if you want, if only to justify them purchasing it in the first place!
