Really Good Movie

One of the best Hindi movie to come out in a long time. What stood out to me from the movie is how at the beginning of the movie, Rani had really dark mehndi, which symbolized that she still loved Vijay, and also she was more dependent on others. What i noticed throughout the movie that the mehndi was gradually getting lighter; and that symbolized her becoming more independent. At the end, the mehndi is completely gone from her hand, and this was the time she realized that she does not need Vijay anymore. Of course mehndi does gradually come off after a while, but i felt that, it symbolized Rani's transformation from a dependent girl to a independent lady. I rate this movie 10/10.

That's a really nice observation. I loved this movie. I liked how the mehndi slowly faded through the movie as well, though I didn't think about the connotation of it. It is like the wedding fiasco slowly being erased or washed away, leaving a clean slate. I also liked how the movie didn't force Rani into the arms of another man to make "us" (the Bollywood audience) happy at the end. Maybe she'll find someone really nice in the future but that's another story for another day. Today is Rani's day when she takes back control of her life and knows who she is; I love how the film gives her that.
