The NFL is an evil corporation only interested in money

But we knew that before this movie.

reply

That's any major sports corporation. Look at FIFA.

reply

You could probably remove "sports" from that statement.

Their situation is untenable. It will take a while --perhaps a generation-- but the idea that white mothers are going to be allowing their sons to do this is crazy. It will have an effect.

Kisskiss, Bangbang

reply

White mothers not letting their kids play football is not the issue. Helicopter white parents already don't let their kids play football, and that's why the league is mostly black. Now, when this gets really out of hand, and black mothers don't let their kids play football, then the talent pool will really dry up.

I don't think it will matter though. Somebody will play it, and people will pay to watch them instead.

reply

Yup, it's the mob. Not. For. Long.

reply

Doesn't even technically need to be a business to be unbelievably shady.

The Catholic church isn't a business. Neither is the NCAA.

reply

Corrupt like any major sporting body

I feel so sorry for those poor exploited NFL players having to get by on $30 million a year running with a football. Of course they could quit and get a real job, but since most of them have the IQ of 3 or 4 they would be lucky to get $3 bucks an hour flipping burgers at McDonald's. And that wouldn't be enough to pay for their 100 room mansions, their Mercedes, their Yacht and the whores they pay to suck their dick's after practice.

reply

But did they take those jobs, cash those checks with the full knowledge of what could happen to them? Nope, they were told they were fine. Would you do it if you knew you'd be in a grave before 50? Would you at least like to have been given the information so you could make an informed choice? I get that the ones playing now are playing knowing full well what's going on, but for decades men suited up not knowing they could very well go mad and die before they ever hit middle age. That's just wrong, millions of dollars or not, and I do feel sorry for those exploited players. NFL made BILLIONS off of them.

reply

You're a *beep* idiot.

reply

Unfortunately it is not just NFL players who suffer the consequences of coaching techniques taught at peewee, grade school, high school and college level. My cousin played on the very field where some of those young players were shown doing their drills and being told to make more contact. When he was a freshman in high school he speared another player as he was making a tackle (as he was taught to do - this was over 40 years ago.) He spent the rest of his life as a quadriplegic and died three years ago.

reply

The biggest problem is that people love to see other people hurt and bashing their skulls in. The more violent the better. NASCAR, boxing, martial arts competition, American football etc. there are loads of sport people watch for the chance at someone getting hurt.

reply

The fans fuel it.

I am the Alpha and the Omoxus. The Omoxus and the Omega

The NFL (or any corporation) is a non-sentient entity and cannot, by definition, be evil.

reply

Corporations are made up of people (usually money-hungry people) so they can be evil!

Replace belief with knowledge.

reply

There are far worse corporations then the NFL.
