Gold-digging lawsuits

The cover-up wasn't cool, but humans have known for centuries that bashing your head into stuff is bad for you. The players who feigned ignorance and sued are asses.

reply

They didn't feign ignorance they were outright told from childhood that this wasn't an issue.

So they were covering up what everyone already knew,...yet they were denying it? Denied the Doctor's Research, denied his findings,..but everyone knew?

If everyone knew,..exactly what was it they were covering up?

Going into space in a rocketship is dangerous too. That doesn't mean you cover up or ignore safety standards. They make helmets and pads for a reason. Also, tell that to Johnny Unitis who can't even sign a football for his most loyal fans, because of his arthritic hands. An owner can make BILLIONS off of these players.

The NFL and its stooges were afraid to admit the underlying causes of CTE and believed they would lose revenue if the unsuspecting public began to put the pieces together and stopped letting their kids play Pop Warner and the like, their money train would come to a screeching halt.
The NFL was INFAMOUS for burying proof and ignoring the facts surrounding concussions. The league allowed players who had gone through TBI with concussions to walk back on to the field and go back into the game, coercing doctors and team physicians who suspected the practice to be permanently damaging, but did so anyway.
Especially NFL players (and very talented collegiate players, wanting to break into the NFL) who know that their value is ON the field, with little to no support off the field (monetary or otherwise) are all too aware that even one week off the field can mean the difference between playing and riding the bench. Doctors would pump any number of drugs into the veins of players to get them back into the game, with the NFL being complicit in the crime of denial and submerged facts.

The NFL went out of their way to deny any correlation between CTE, TBI, and players. They went so far as to string together pseudoscience, hired quacks to support their false narrative, and all at the expense of players.

What you're ignoring is the players- these men who blindly trusted an organization that they truly believed would never cause them harm knowingly, perpetrated one of the most treacherous and underhanded acts of all time, by the way- who are victims that lay in the wake of a selfish organization that put profit over players.

So in other words, go to hell.
