With that aside, he has as much chance as any of the other TV characters to show up in the movies. If any of them were to appear on the big screen, then I bet Luke can easily be written in regardless of how "street" he may be to some viewers.
Luke likes to joke around quite a bit, therefore I see his humor being put to good use in a MCU movie.
