Things that made no sense

When that guy without teeth, watches the car blow up thinking Jesse Eisenberg was in it, why do Adrian and the team continue searching for him?? They were under the impression that he was already dead..what made them continue hunting, to 'kill' a guy who they already thought was dead...

And that part where Jesse shoots the frying pan, supposedly making the bullet turn backwards to hit that guy...please..what a joke. I know this is a movie and all, and we're not supposed to think about certain things too much, but why did they even try to include such a dumb scene like that in the film..It wasn't even that cool, we all know bullets can't travel backwards after hitting objects. movie physics..smh

I had to keep the volume turned down during the three-quarters of the movie that was nothing but a barrage of bullets and things blowing up real good.

Government conspiracy flicks can be fun. This wasn't one of them.

There wasn't much acting - people running around and covered in blood. Had I been Mike I would have at least showered before putting on that nice pretty Hawaiian shirt.

Thumbs down. ½ star.

And did you notice how that frying pan bullet managed to propel blood at the front and the rear of the guy?

That's not how bullets work. I guess that the movie was made with the demographics of "dumb."

Immediately after that, the old guy from the gas station calls the number on the TV to report seeing them. That is how they know he was alive and with Lasseter.

Bullets have been known to ricochet backwards. Just speak to anyone who shoots steel targets often. Bullets that ricochet back like that lose almost all their momentum, so they wouldn't be deadly. In this case, the bullet ricocheted 90 degrees, which would make it lose most of its momentum.

So yes, it is possible to make the frying pan shot, but in reality the bullet would have just bounced off of Otis.

Sometimes movies are more enjoyable when you treat them like comic books. This movie is just fun make believe and not intended to be a documentary on covert sleeper agent programs.

thank you, the first one made sense however, about the bullet travelling backwards..

It is indeed not possible to make the frying pan shot..
I know for a fact that bullets cannot travel backwards holding their shape. There's an episode on Mythbusters where they prove this. Bullets never, ever go backwards even after hitting objects (unless it's a spherical bullet which ricochets off a number of hard surfaces). Depending on the surface, the lead or copper that ricochets off of surfaces carry enough velocity to continue moving forward, while the angle of the shot may play a role in shifting the position of the bullet's travel following impact, whether it be a slight left/right/up or down.

What you saw in this film appeared to be Jesse, vying to take a shot at the frying pan while on the ground, hoping for it to completely rebound off of the pan and travel backwards to kill this guy...it's kind of dumb as they make it seem as if bullets are supposed to be bouncy or whatever

The episode of MythBusters proved that if you hit a steel plate at a 90 degree angle, it will be very unlikely to ricochet 180 degrees back to the shooter. In this case, he is using a frying pan at 45 degrees to get a 90 degree ricochet, which is not the same thing. This is entirely possible and as I already said, shooters who use steel targets have had bullets come back at them due to the plate being knocked out of position by prior shots.

Even in the MythBusters episode, they were able to get a ball bearing to bounce back 180 degrees, but it had less than lethal velocity when it reached the shooter. This is also in agreement with what I said before. Shooters who have had bullets come back observe the bullet has no energy and cannot hurt you.

Speaking from my own experience, when I was a kid, I have had pellets from a pellet gun come back at me when shooting targets. They would hit the house behind me, but not with any force that it let a mark.

There are plenty of bones to pick with the physics in this movie. The frying pan shot is not one of them.

Must not be a billiards player.

You all probably missed the fact that this is a deadpan parody.
