3/10. Here's why / Esta es la razón:
AMERICAN ULTRA feels less like a mash-up of 2 genres and more like 2 genres stapled together. The light humour doesn't blend with the gory action and the emotional drama. What if I separated it into 2 movies? Well, the stoner comedy wouldn't work, because it's not funny. The hitman thriller maybe would. The action sequences are well-crafted and MIKE HOWELL is a likeable hero. However, the concept is a rip-off of THE BOURNE IDENTITY (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2Xx6CyNbbY&t=204s) (which coincidentally(?) also featured Walton Goggins) and the twist about PHOEBE LARSON (MIKE's girlfriend) being a CIA agent made me roll my eyes. That being said, Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart and Connie Britton's performances are good. The 2 leads have even more chemistry here than in ADVENTURELAND.

OPERACIÓN ULTRA no se tiente tanto como una combinación de 2 géneros sino como 2 géneros pegados. El humor ligero no se mezcla con la acción sangrienta y el drama emocional. ¿Qué pasaría si la separara en 2 película? Bueno, la comedia marihuanera no funcionaría, porque no es chistosa. El thriller de asesino a sueldo quizás sí. Las secuencias de acción están bien construidas y MIKE HOWELL es un héroe agradable. Sin embargo, el concepto es una copia de IDENTIDAD DESCONOCIDA (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2Xx6CyNbbY&t=204s) (la cual casualmente(?) también tenía a Walton Goggins) y el giro de que PHOEBE LARSON (la novia de MIKE) es una agente de la CIA me hizo poner los ojos en blanco. Habiendo dicho eso, las actuaciones de Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart y Connie Britton son buenas. Los 2 actores protagónicos tienen todavía más química aquí que en ADVENTURELAND.
