Are slaves still owned today?
Do any farms or ranches still own slaves today?
shareTroll again...
shareAt least not in this country.
shareThere are slaves on six continents. A few years ago I remember there was this Ethiopian woman held against her will somewhere upstate. She was essentislly this family's slave for like five years so she could work off her debt to the coyote. This year the AP won the Pulitzer for exposing the slave trade in Thailand. Fishing companies were telling men they would get work but instead they were putting them in bondage on fishing boats because they couldn't keep up with the demand. That fish you pick uo from Walmart and Costco it's dirty. And don't forget about the numerous sex slaves held against their will all over the world l.
shareSlaves have existed since the beginning of time. Not gonna change.
shareThere are more slaves worldwide today than there were at the height of the Atlantic slave system. The difference is that slavery is illegal everywhere now so enslavers are more covert in their actions.
There's this idea among many that modern day slavery is mostly about sex work, but most slaves are doing other kind of labor, including agricultural and domestic work.
Unless Alpert's covered in bacon grease, I don't think Hugo can track anything.
Slavery will always exist. How it's handeled and utilized, changes with the century.
shareYes slavery exist right here in the U.S and it's perfectly legal. Read your constitution; Slavery was never fully abolished and many of you have them in your own families. They're called inmates.
