I hope they don't use this to set up future movies

This should be a Wolverine movie with nods to the X Men films that he was a part of. It should act as a finale, not just for him, but also for the original cast's string of movies. I feel like we deserve closure on both.

They can continue on with the new cast but this should be treated as though it were from a completely series. Any set ups for X Force or the Apocalypse sequels would be very out of place.

I can't repel trolling of that magnitude!

Hard to say, considering the lack of details about this movie. A lot of people assume it will be loosely based off of the Old Man Logan storyline. But NOTHING we've seen so far screams to me Old Man Logan. Anyway, I would have preferred if Hugh Jackman's final film as Wolverine would be in an X-Men movie. Ending it in his own stand-alone movie seems kinda odd. It's like Robert Downey Jr. final role as Tony Stark would be in Iron Man 4.

Eh, poor comparison. Downey actually started off with his standalone movies before Avengers. I'd think an Iron Man 4 as his final movie would be pretty cool. Jackman on the other hand, started with the ensemble movies, and then his stand-alone movies were sucky to mediocre at best. I agree with your point, just not your comparison. He should end in an X-Men movie because that's how he started. But hopefully there's some other original X-Men in this movie, not just him and Xavier.

You kinda just confirmed YOUR own fears. Let's say that Mr Sinister plays a big role in this movie (Which I doubt he does.) He's not going to die. Wolverine simply cannot defeat him. X-23 cant defeat him, Charles will be too old and will obviously be taken out of the fight. Plus to top it off, Sinister is confirmed for several movies. He has to go on to create Cable and so forth. I think it's perfect to have a movie where say, Wolverine dies and his death informs the next set of movies. There's nothing wrong with that. Wolverine as a character will never see closure. You know why? Because X-23 is just going to continue that story. Bryan Singer wanted her to be in X-force (As she should,) and even Tim Miller named dropped her as being one of the characters he'd love to see Deadpool fight. It's already planned out.
