I saw this movie once called The Fugitive...

I just saw a commercial for this on the TV and immediately thought of one thing: The Fugitive, the 1993 action thriller starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. Is this TV show a retelling of the same story or something? It sounds JUST like it. I mean, come on! We've seen this before!

Man gets accused of murdering family members even though he did not do it, gets arrested, escapes from vehicle, tries to solve the case and find the real killer...

That's The Fugitive, and that's also the basic plot of Prey. Am I missing out, or is this the least original crime series ever?

reply

The Fugittive was based on the real life murder of Marilyn Sheppard. Her husband, Sam, was certainly guilty.
There are similarities, yes.

Btw. Kjøttpudding? Ikke vits å svare på engelsk da, hvis du er norsk.

reply

Haha, er norsk, ja :)

This show was a complete rip off of The Fugitive. They even had a one armed baddie. Well he had a very badly injured arm.

'Man on the Run' is one of the oldest tropes in films/television. Prey is just one of the most recent examples. It is no more of a ripoff of The Fugitive than the Fugitive was a ripoff of The 39 Steps. There are no new stories. Just new interpretations of old stories.

This one's really well done. Each season is stand alone with a talented cast...

Or of any film that has a character who is a fugitive.

The movie The Fugitive was preceded by the TV version back when I was a kid
