Best possible reaction imho, as it suggest it might be a truly great film.
Why do people boo a film? Like they could make a better one. Don't like it? Either walk out or keep your trap shut. This isn't a sporting event.

I agree, but I'd say it's a bit of a tradition at Cannes and the Cannes "critics", not a universal thing.
Anyway, this movie looks great. It's nice to see Harvey Keitel back on movie screens. share
I can't imagine booing a film either, regardless of Cannes tradition, and I generally respect the work that goes into filmmaking regardless of the result. Thankfully, the result here is near perfection.
