So what's the deal with BAD SyFy movies not having anyone wear hats?

OR helmets or any sort of 'cover' that is regulation. I figure they wanted to 'showcase' the non regulation 'L.A. Hairstyles' of their supporting cast, but I get so irritated when all these characters have no hat or helmet on outside, while on duty.

This is indicative of poorly written bad Sci-Fi grade Z movies. They all do that. Maybe they don't want their actors to wear hats or helmets, even though the duty requires it. Maybe they think the audience is so stupid that we can't tell them apart (and that might be true but not because of headgear but because of bad storyline and bad filmmaking).

There are many other BETTER movies that have all the participants wearing helmets or hats. Saving Private Ryan and Blackhawk Down certainly did not suffer by requiring that their actors look like proper military instead of Hollywood actors at a costume party.

I really like the part where you compare this film which probably cost no more than $1 million dollars to make and two films which after advertising and publicity upwards of $300 million dollars together!

It costs nothing to put hats on people. I think you missed the point. I'm a low budget filmmaker with a 100th of the budget of SyFy and my uniforms are perfect. It's not about the money in this case. I wouldn't slam a fix that would costs tons of cash. It's a fix that costs next to nothing. That's indicative of a sloppy slipshod mentality.
