Ending questions (spoilers)

So at the end Chad gets arrested for breaking into the dog seller's home and grabbing a puppy (he left the money but I guess since the seller didn't want to sell it to him, it would still be considered stealing), but would that be the extent of the charges? They hadn't charged him with the robbery yet. How much time would he get?
