3 Rivers Film Festival

Never underestimate the power of great actors. If given the availability to shine, the finest actors will make mountains out of molehills, King Lear out of Jack and Jill. Trespass Against Us is neither the best nor worst material thrown towards Michael Fassbender and Brendan Gleeson, undoubtably two of our best working actors, but they know how to make its shaggy, cliche-ridden 99-minute family drama one laced with lingering depth, troubled mortality and personal longing. A British father-son crime drama that’s not nearly as telling or insightful as first-time feature director Adam Smith wants it to be, it’s nevertheless heightened by its accomplished, naturally-anguished performances, the kind of high-caliber acting expected of them, no matter what movie they’re in. http://www.cutprintfilm.com/reviews/three-rivers-film-festival-trespass-us/
