Favorite song of Season 2?

What's yours?
Mine's a toss up between "As Good As it Gets" and "Today We Rise"
Gwendolyn and the Chef are my two favorite characters, so whenever they have a song together, I immediately love it.
But "Today We Rise" is one of the best Les Mis parody songs I've heard because not only is it funny, but it is also musically very catchy.

What do you guys think?

I hate to admit this, but I actually found "Off with His Shirt" to be quite catchy. I thought Kylie Minogue was a good fit for the disco vocals, too.

With both Madalena's song about feelings and "World's Best Kiss," I liked how the ending was very significant (WBK in the reprise, with Isabella changing the lyrics from "it was one I won't forget" to "it was the only one we'll get," Madalena beginning to realize her feelings for Gareth with the sort of double-meaning of "feeling" in the repeat of, "What is this feeling? Is this a feeling?").

Mine as well. Been so many good ones this season but I really enjoyed "Off with his shirt" and "What is this feeling"

reply

Music twins! Nice.

reply

I agree, off with his shirt. He has a hunky body, too.

What is This Feeling is most definitely my favorite of the season and one of my favorites of the series as well. It was quite touching but still had the show's ever present humor. It sounded like it could be in an actual Disney movie or Broadway show and Jansen's vocals sound too notch.

your two are great, but theres also the one about the dragon

I'm a contradiction 

My dragon pal and me

Mine is definitely Today We Rise. The song itself I agree was both funny and catchy. Plus personally I was really cracking up at everyone slowly leaving while sid was to into the song to notice.

I did also think the giants vs dworves was really fun as well.

Today We Rise was a brilliant combination of "do you hear the people sing" with lyric more like "The Ballad of Sir Robin".

reply

Today We Rise and Off with His Shirt has definitely grown on me. I find Today We Rise better and catchy than the Les Miserable song it parodied.

reply

I loved “Dwarves vs. Giants” - the West Side Story parody.
I pissed that it wasn’t released on iTunes.

Dude, it’s Beacon Hills.

reply

Yes! It's those little moments of, "oh gad, I know what that is" that help to make the show so fun. A bunch of ragtag hoodlums all snapping their fingers in rhythm and apparently poised to burst into dance--gad, I know what that is (and I've never even seen the movie, hah).

Me, too!

For me, it's "A New Season" by far, with "Today We Rise" coming in second.

Peter, is your social worker in that horse?

reply

The "A New Season" song was only eclipsed by the "Recap Song" starting the penultimate episode. I had to replay that one to catch all the clever lines that slipped in and out of the fourth wall.

reply

I just watched "A New Season" on Hulu, and near the end the major characters are in a "Brady Bunch" grid where Sid sings a major spoiler about the last episode which causes Gareth to say, "Way to blow it, you prat".

Too funny.

Today We Rise

The Dwarves vs Giants (you're the same damn height!)
and Today we rise. Love Sid!
