This show is awful

I was really excited about this show, but I've been watching for a half hour and I haven't laughed once. The humor is immature and lacks substance, the characters are poorly acted, and the songs are underwhelming. I'll watch the rest of the episode, but I doubt I'll continue watching.

Anybody else want to chime their opinion? I'd like to hear what you think.

reply

It's lacking something!

reply

Agreed. It's lacking a lack of singing. Musicals died out for a reason. It's time to stop trying to dig them up.

reply

They didnt die out, goofball. You can choose to ignore them though.

reply

Wasn't Frozen, the billion-dollar box office smash, a musical? Didn't all those High School Musical films do very well? Doesn't Broadway continue to crank out musicals season after season? Don't even get me started on Glee.

I don't think musicals will ever die out. Comedic musical television series, on the other hand...

Beauty may be only skin deep, but arrogance and stupidity go down to the bone.

reply

Have you tried booking tickets for the latest new musicals?! Hardly see them dying out with shows like Book of Mormon, Matilda, Wicked, Hamilton selling out day in and day out!

It's hot... but not as hot as the night Johnny Viti got married...

reply

I laughed but ABC is freaking overdoing the sung promos for other shows.

reply

This X a million. So annoying.

reply

THANK YOU!

reply

ugh i hated how every promo was using that stupid song. It actually made me sick of the show already

reply

i dont think i am the target audience for this show

reply

Rejoice and be grateful.

The kiddies always gotta have something to complain about.

reply

You mean peole who use capital letters?

reply

I agree. It's awful. I was so excited to watch this with the family but it's just a string of bad sex jokes. Too bad.

reply

Nobody cares about your awful family. Your prudishness has nothing to do with the quality of this show. Stop trying to sanatize things for your own idiot mores. If you want to shelter your children, you do that. Just leave the rest of us alone. You Parents Television Council people are just whiny losers.

reply

How weird. I got a notification that there was a response to my post. There doesn't seem to be any.

reply

That's fine, everyone else can see it

reply

Weird, just a post with no content again. Funny.

reply

For complaining so much about sex jokes you sure are being a bit of a douche.

reply

Exactly what does a douche have to do with sex? Someone needs to go back to sex ed class! Take notes during Galavant.

reply

Was that an intentional joke? Because a douche is used to clean vaginas. And it's not that it relates to sex, it's that you're complaining about how sex talk ruins a show, and being a snarky a-hole

reply

Actually douche is French for bath. Just washing in general. It's Americans who have sexualized it, probably because more than any other people on Earth Americans are both fascinated by and terrified of sex. It's why they love huge rockets and guns and hate displays of affection.

^What this guy said.

Whether itisitisme was being a jerk or not, you were being a complete and total douche about it.

reply

So do you prefer water or vinegar in the boudoir?

reply

[deleted]

Agreed. :)

reply

"mores'? Morals? Actually the level of jokes does have to do with the quality of the show.Have you ever heard of the terms High comedy and Low comedy? The highest form of comedy is satire, the lowest form of comedy is sex and bodily function based comedy, just above it is farce/slapstick, and so on and so forth. The worst thing you can do is run an entire show off of low comedy. You have to have smart intelligent jokes that drive the plot, while having lower comedy along the way.But as with all comedy its a personal preference. Comedy is the most personal of all the theatrical forms because it works on offending. If it touches something you actually have an opinion on, it can ruin the entire thing.

reply

oH no it's not a family show! Help us all!

Obviously this is for a younger audience, and I love it.

reply

I agree. The music is terrible. The acting limp. Not funny at all.

This show will have mix reviews, not everybody will get the jokes and the humor.

I loved it. I WILL definately be watching.

"damn thing just does what it want"
#BATB on the CW!!

reply

I got the jokes just fine. They just were not funny. A much, much lesser version of Spamalot. "Yo Mama" jokes? I guess some people are easily amused. I don't mind silly, but they just fell flat and tired no matter how hard they were trying. The songs were terrible, too. Not really memorable.

reply

The yo mama jokes wasn't the funny bit of that joke. The joke is that yo mama jokes were tired and stupid way back in 1265.

reply

I like medieval stories and some comedy. I don't mind low-brow humor. I do not like musicals. I was hoping this show would be more comedy and less musical, but its been the other way around so far. Zoned out during most of the singing. The moment I truly laughed was at the end when Sir Jean Hamme was puking out his helm, and during his very slow joust with Galavant.

Will probably tune in next week, but I really do hate musicals.

reply

I am loving it.
