Question about a detail early on in the movie.. (spoilers obviously)

So, it appeared to me in the first 20 mins or so (prior to the party massacre,) that the lead male got stung in the leg.. But nothing ever happened to him because of it.. Even though this other dude has got one living out of his back... Lead male also got a huge stinger through the shoulder, which also did nothing.. The shoulder thing I can almost forgive since he was being injured by a wasp that had already uh, merged with a human being I guess?? But all the other guests who were stung by the wasps ended up birthing mutated huge wasps.. except this dude.. Am I missing something here?? I know this movie kinda sucked anyway but this detail is annoying me..

The only thing i can come up with is remember towards the end when the old lady son said he was chosen and he was going to be his new daddy ? Thats the only thing i can think of. Hopefully that helps some lol.

He didn't get stung , he cut his leg falling over the chairs as he was setting them up. As for the huge stinger through the shoulder , it went right through him not into him so the wasp couldn't inject its venom/goo into his body, you see yellow slime drool out of the stinger and onto the floor after its stabbed clean thru his shoulder.
