Loads of undeserved one star ratings - because it shows the ugly reality.

OK, so this was no Die Hard but it's a decent action flick which has its moments. The production value is high, especially in the first half - it's shot on a grand scale and has a decent touch of realism towards the beginning. After that it's a slightly over-the-top action flick, so criticism about that would be valid.

But all the one star reviews are completely unfair. The movie deals with terrorists belonging to a certain religion (I won't say which so as to not trigger anyone, just pick the first random religion that comes to YOUR mind when you think of terrorists... ) - and the hero is an alpha male who gives no *beep* about calling a guy called Kamran, Cameron. It's kinda funny actually, the lack of PC. I loved it... Very refreshing.
And that explains the scores of people going into a tizzy and giving it a one star rating. Watch it, but don't take any delicate souls along coz they may not appreciate it as much. Cheers!

I was curious about this having any impact on the ratings, and it seemingly does. So some of the criticism is politically/Haram motivated? I will give it a go then. Can't be any worse than San Andreas (tipping the hat eh) which I enjoyed for its stupid action.

reply

There ya go. Even an indifferent reviewer here claimed it didn't have enough action, but it was mostly action. In a good way, that is. Pretty ominous.

reply

I would have liked it if it weren't for the big insult to the SAS in this movie.

This

absolutely

not to mention the Met could not be so thoroughly infiltrated

I watched this last night. I rated an 8/10. Good action flick. I don't need Woody Allen plot development, awkward Manhattan dinner party banter garbage. Give me action that doesn't fail and I'm satisfied. So the 1, 2 star ratings are by Hallmark Channel writers obviously.

" I don't need Woody Allen plot development"

Mr. Allen doesn't need you either, keep watching war cartoons

reply

I liked this more than the first because of the lack of PC bs. I'm tired of random separatists or angered white supremacist groups being the antagonists. Let's just stick to reality for the bad guys. I also didn't like the SAS or D Boys lookin so mediocre. And i also found their "hacker" to be quite laughable, but it is a movie.

reply

Dylan Roof thanks you for your pathetic deflection from people like him.

reply

Just rated 10/10 to balance stupid PC losers. I am on a rating Balancing spree..... ...

reply

I gave it a five, because it was a lesser, tacked on sequel to a pretty darn good action flick.

reply

5 to 6 is the reasonable voting for the movie... jokers give it 1 I give it 10.. average 5.5

reply

Just an FYI. I used to do that sometimes but I read somewhere on this site that they actually discard some of the 10s and the ones because it seems like people who are doing that have some sort of agenda. Probably better off giving it an 8.

I would say my memory is not what it used to be. But I don't remember what my memory used to be.

reply

I will do the same. Down with PC individuals. Why were the bad guys speaking urdu, though?

reply

It was pretty much a racist movie. If movies were racist, this movie would be a racist. The writing was so bad and so appallingly bad when it came to every single muslim character. I suggest to anyone that liked this, to as well watch "Kutlar Vidisi" or "Valley of the Wolves"...where three Turkish guys are the good guys, Billy Zane is the evil American bad guy, and they shoot 50-100 mindless American soldiers through a dumb but entertaining action movie, just where the the opposite applies. Instead of every muslim guy being a dumb guy that says nothing, gets shot, and is "evil", in that film the Americans are put to the same treatment and I think anyone that actually enjoys this garbage movie should be FORCED to at least watch that movie to see how stupid it is on the propaganda level.

Besides that issue the movie was just poorly written and very banal and cliched. 5 out of 10 is like, the most generous crappy score I could give it for having mindless entertainment with literally 0 redeeming intellectual value, and on top of that actually being racist in its message. I could easily give this a 3/10 and its one of the worst movies I have seen in the last 5 years.

reply

WOW! Whatever you do. Don't watch 13 Hours. You will hate it. Why? Because it shows Muslims as bad guys and Americans as good. One problem though ... it was real. That might hurt your feelings.

reply

agree with Fleeeks....I thought it's refreshing lack of PC was a welcome change.

reply

Just because it wasn't PC doesn't make it a good film. This was a cliche-ridden mess. Couldn't care less about any of the characters. Such an empty movie :/
Hope they make a White House Down sequel because OHF del suxxo, thumbs down

reply

Yep, one critic actually gave it a score of 0.

reply

Another interesting thing everyone who praises non-PC movies is they are non-PC to EVERY single culture but the American one. Oh? Convenient isn't it. Would like to see if it was the other way around how praiseful these morons would be. I really don't care if U.S. movies wave the flag around, but rubbing it in and bashing other cultures is unnecessary, and stupid.

reply

Hope they make a White House Down sequel ...

It's been done already:

No shortage of this crap.

reply

Name the cliches. I did not see any.

reply

I voted it 1/10 because of terrible CGI and laughably bad dialogues/storyline/characters.

I am OK with them creating a movie on Islamic terrorism, just put an effort into it. I think they just expected this movie to sell cause of current terrorist attacks in west, which is why it still made back the money (and will probably have another sequel).

EDIT: On the other hand, a lot of muslims and leftist nutjobs are rating it 1. So to balance it out, I will rate it 10/10. Fk em all.
