Lacking

Now, it was beautifuly shot, but the story was just lacking. The romance wasn't all that touching, the horrors of the war weren't that deeply explored. The music was over-the-top IMO.

At the end there was a title card /or whatever you call those/ that said something about how many children were rejected by society after the war. Where was that in the film? For a film called The Midwife, there wasn't that much midwifery...

I don't know why, but I expected this to be better. It was a disappointment.
