Jesus on the cross has a fair amount of time in this movie
Not sure if the director suddenly became religious or something
but the Jesus on the cross on the wall over Ethan's bed makes many
apparences.
Very interesting...now that you mention it, that cross shows up every time there is a bedroom scene...astounding.

I'm going to assume that it's probably there because god and country are, for the most part, usually intertwined; each side of a war thinking they're "righteous" in their acts of horrible murderous crimes.
