Her acting is distractingly bad, and anyone casting her has lost my confidence that they're serious about making a good movie.

I must say that I sensed something amiss, and then you come along and describe it perfectly... hollywood is about 99% trash nowadays, your description is dead-on balls accurate!

She is actually not bad in this, some of the scenes are very good. She was also getting better on Mad Men from season to season, and gives a powerhouse performance in the last few episodes. (especially her last conversation with Don over the phone)

Agreed. One of the many reasons I rated this timely, relevant film only 4/10.

Absolutely agree. Didn't yet know she was in it, but as soon as heard Betty Draper's voice, I knew the movie was doomed.

I thought she was in the movies because of her look. She looked really good as mom.
