It looks like there are two movies being made about the same topic. The other is called Anthropoid. It wouldn't be the first time Hollywood did this, like when two Truman Capote movies came out at the same time.

Amazing...me too! I was the same age, saw the film with my grandfather in Lebanon (where they'd clearly not heard of minimum age requirements and ratings...at least not in the mid-1970s!). It was 40 years ago, but I will never forget the ending in the church.

It is filmed in Prague, many of the actors are Czechs and Czech producers work on it. Also, the director did some actual research and tries to be authentic. I seriously doubt this will be more than another Hollywood tragic war story.
However, it is nice that they finally realized that there were more people fighting the war than just Brits and Americans and there were also other rebels, not just in France....

Yes, when there is an interesting script in Hollywood it usually gets read and then there is sometimes a bidding war. The loser though then decides they will still make the movie, hire a screenwriter who isn't currently working on anything better, and make their own script, although make it different enough so that they don't get sued over it. Therefore...yes, you often get two very similar movies that come out in the same year, or 1 year later etc.
Generally I think this is good, as it forces people to make the best film they can, and it also gives viewers two versions of something, which is good for a number of reasons...
So...don't show your script to anyone if you ever make one.
