What did you think of this movie?

I thought it was all right.

I found it totally stupid, boring and a waste of 2 hours. The woman is in an abusive, submissive marriage so she decides to go online and get into another submissive realtionship. Pleae tell me how this makes sense. She should have just stayed with her husband and kept the family in tact instead of having an affair with her unethical doctor.

reply

Stay with the husband? Why? To be a complete doormat? No thanks. The submissive relationship with "Shane - the Duke" was about as stupid as it could be, but regardless, staying with her husband would have been complete insanity. I am glad she had the affair, even though it didn't work out. He gave her at least some sort of idea what it was like to be desired, instead of the constant degradation by her husband. Graham was an a&& but her husband was a real jerk. Sure, ideally, neither should cheat and should divorce before they do it, but come on. He had no problem cheating and calling her names and making her feel like a fool.

it sure was different. especially for a life time movie. it didn't have the USUAL outcome.i like Ashley Jones so that is why i gave it a chance.i enjoyed it but i wouldn't be surprised if CERTAIN groups attacked it.

reply

It was really good initially; really went downhill when she went to Seattle, for sure.

I was wondering if anyone noticed (or perhaps I missed it, which is possible), but when she had those business cards printed up towards the end of the movie, I thought I saw the area code to be 206. That is the one of the area codes for Seattle. Did she move to Seattle to be with the Duke?

Overall, I thought the movie was disgustingly poor.

reply

I think 'Duke' made it clear that after 'training' they won't ever see each other or keep in touch at any point.

reply

Thanks for your response. That part I did understand. What I was referring to was the business cards that were printed for her towards the end of the movie. I thought the telephone number on the card had a 206 area code, which is the area code for Seattle. This would have been after her visit with the Duke. Yet, in the movie, she had to fly in to Seattle to see the Duke. But maybe I saw the area code incorrectly.

reply

I read your post while watching this movie, so I watched for the area code. It's 215, which is in Philadelphia.

Dud he own the website??

I found myself getting mad at a stupid movie. "With the Duke's permission." Really? And telling her he would treat her like a dog on a leash and take her outside?" Stupid!!
I'm not comparing this to Twilight, but after the movie came out, thousands of vampire movies, and t.v. series followed. Does this mean we're going to get thousands of 'Shades of Grey' type movies?

I didn't read SOG, and have no intention of seeing the movie. I really don't care to see anymore movies about all this
dom and sub stuff!

Knock if off Napolean make yourself a dang quesadil-la!

reply

I agree. This movie was beyond ridiculous, yet I sat through the whole thing. Ugh! I never planned on reading SOG either, but when Charlie Hunnam was cast, I decided to read them. They weren't nearly as horrible as I had thought they would be. Still wish Charlie was playing the lead!

Not if you want to present a consequence whose purpose is to encourage someone not to break a rule. Humiliation is much more effective than pain. Besides inflicting pain is a lot more work.

Ashley Jones is what got me to check it out and I loved it. Her husband was a jerk and she was better off without him.

reply

I hated it! Even for a T.V. movie. There were times where it felt like the script was written decades ago. I knew not to expect any nudity, but it was still frustrating watching people talk about kinky sex without showing it.

reply

Couldn't figure out where it was headed. Thought that at any point during the Seattle sojourn as the kinkiness intensified she was just gonna laugh, say, "Screw this!" and walk away "cured".

reply

I'll watch pretty much anything with Ashley Jones (for a few minutes at least). I find her very attractive and particularly sexy in this movie despite it's obvious shortcomings.
