This Film in a nutshell....

1. This is basically an over produced Lifetime movie of the week.
2. Katherine Heigl is bad. Stop casting her. She's a character actress at best with good looks.
3. The acting out of the rest of the cast was good. W
4. Heigl and Biedel had no dialogue. I almost think that their performances caused a rewrite of the script. They didn't pass for a loving Lesbian couple of 5 years. Most of the good writing was left for the parents and friends.
5. Grace Gummer's performance was good. She almost stole the show. Streep Genes.
6. Tom Wilkinson and Linda Emond carry this entire film on it's shoulders. Unfortunately without a solid main plotline with good performances this film sinks into the depths of 5 star out of 10 mediocrity.

Your wording there makes it sound as if "character actors/actresses" are not good.

Thank you! And usually they are the complete opposite to the ones on the movie posters. They don't fit in the way Hollywood wants their leads to look so they play the really meaty supporting parts with the talent.

Agreed! I only saw like 10-15 min of the movie, if that, and what I said to my self was this is bad, it's really really bad. Then I turned it off.

Character actors are the most talented of performers, they are scene stealers and they are generally in 3-4 times as many films. Are you sure you want that for her?

It was not a good movie. Watchable BUT the script was weak. So was the chemistry between the lesbian couple.

The supporting cast made it worth sitting through. Thin script.

Nathan_BA; I agree with everything you say. My wife and I watched this movie, and I almost fell asleep. Besides your valid points, I would also say that any movie, in my opinion, that has scenes of just people and no dialogue but a song for about 2-3 minutes is lacking in originality. There are at least 4 or 5 scenes like this in this movie, and it just made it worse. I rated this a 1 only because I couldn't rate it a zero!
