Unfortunately Bledel sucks in this. Not that she's ever really good but there are movies that make better used of her acting range, like Daisy and Violet. In this, she's mostly lost in the lack of dialog because she can't really do much when the camera is not focused on her. She's not supposed to be charming really so she feels a little invisible.

In my opinion, it's not that Bledel is a bad actress in this, as much as her character is underdeveloped and a bland canvas. There is little to no chemistry between her and Katherine Heigl and Bledel's character is more of a plot point than an actual developed person. What we know about her? She is apparently nice and has girly good looks. That's it. All the real drama happens between Heigl's character and her family (minus the brother, who besides one solid scene was also barely in it). To the writer, it was important that Jenny was marrying a woman. Which woman was not of a major concern.
shareBledal is a bad actress. Shes decent in Gilmore Girls, but her character in gilmore girls is a mousy quiet thing/ a child actress. She didnt have the acting chops to pull this role off, but I agree they needed to focus more on her family as well. She makes mention that her mom isnt there picking out dresses either. Do they not support? or do they? did they show up to the wedding? How about that akward situation katherine put her in att the funeral. She left her alone in there. I know she was going through some things, but talk about inconsiderate. I guess we're supposed to assume that Bledals character is out and proud so shes uneffected by getting married? The character was poorly written and they got a bad actress to play the part.
