Chemistry

I only just saw the trailer for this, but it feels very far fetched for me to believe that hiegl and bledel have the type of chemistry that gets them to shack up and get married. Maybe the trailer didn't do a good job of portraying it but they looked really awkward together as a couple. is it just me? Still totally excited to see this though.

I agree, they look awkward, but then again isn't Alexis Bledel always a little awkward? Oh well, they are no Taylor Schilling and Laura Prepon for sure! I do hope it was just the way the trailer was edited and that it is a little better in the movie.

I think part of it is the age difference. Alexis looks 12 compared to Katherine.

I got a similar vibe but to be honest, we didn't see enough of them together in the trailer to really make a judgement.

I am glad I am who thought this. I have been waiting for this movie for a while and hope it was just the trailer that made them look really mismatched.

I agree, I saw absolutely no chemistry in the trailer. Hopefully it was just those few moments and the whole film will feel more real.

I really wanted to like this movie too...unfortunately, there is very little to appreciate here...there is little, if any chemistry, and there are very few scenes of Heigl & Bledel together anyway... even worse, what scenes they do have are relatively short and insignificant. You are asked to accept their relationship as genuine & passionate, and between two women who really love and have cared deeply for each other for some time, but little evidence is seen that would make you believe this. The majority of the scenes and film's real focus is on Heigl's character Jenny's relationship with her parents, and in most of these scenes, she is dealing either with her mom or her dad, but rarely both together. She has known her whole life she was gay, and when she finally reveals it to them, they say they are upset at the lie she has kept from them, but more so, they are both truly just struggling to accept her lifestyle. 90% of the film is Jenny's mom and dad struggling to accept her after she comes out to them. What a waste of good potential story and talent. It could have been so much more.

I don't think they really show much of them in the trailer. Think they most they did was hug. Think it's hard to pick up on chemistry that quick. But Heigl did mention she loved making out with Bledel, so that might be a good sign.

i thought i was the only one who thinks that, but still looking forward to watch the movie tho 😊

I agree. Bledel is such a bad actress. I fell for that awkward routine on Gilmore since she was a newbie and that was the character. But it's been over ten years, you would think she would improve. And there was no chemistry with them at all.
