Do you think the film will get a U.S. distributor after what happened in Cannes? I hope so as I really want to see it no matter what the critics have said. Is it possible that the film will go directly to DVD and on demand? Any thoughts on the matter?
It could get a limited release or straight to VOD. I think the latter is probably the most likely scenario.

That would be a pity but at least we would be able to see it. I DVD release would be possible as well. If it plays in theaters it will probably be at one of the small art theaters in NYC.
With digital media these days, you can't stop anything. Not even child pornography. Some movies are now being released simultaneously on DVD and theatres at the same time. Others go straight to DVD by passing theatres.
Then there are pay internet sites and channels like HBO bypassing even DVD's.

The film has distribution in come countries. I believe in France and Spain and some others. People could order the film from those countries. But if the film does not get a distributor in the US it will probably be available for streaming somewhere.
For some reason I think they might already have US distribution, especially with Penn, Theron and Bardem names attached to it. It's expected to be released sometime in the fall in Spain.
shareI hope that you are right Kitty. I have not heard a US distributor or release date announced as of yet but I hope that they have one and that we find out more soon. I would really like to see this on the big screen. Yes, I read that it will be released in Spain sometime in the fall.
I reckon some people are too optimistic here. Highly doubt any distributor would wanna touch it. Scoring a deal with a streaming service seems way more possible IMO.
shareOne can only hope that there is a brave distributor out there that will pick it up. But if the only way to see it is through streaming then that is the way I will see it.
