Inspired idea, poor execution

Despite the inspired ideas informing the movie, and my own passionate opposition to "austerity," I thought the execution was uninspired. There was a lack of rigour, and it felt indulgent. Lackluster visuals, camera placement/framing, mis en scene, editing. It all needed to be tightened, starting with the script. There were some exceptions, for example the three personal stories at the end were vastly more compelling than anything Gomez himself invented. So overall, I found the experience tedious. The regret is all the more because the idea/s behind the project had potential.
