Why another one?

These movies are just parodies at this point. I get they're going for the whole meta/horror/comedy trifecta and all but it hasn't worked with the last two Chucky movies. At this point a remake would be better, and maybe they could take some notes from Annabelle.

Did you see Curse of Chucky? They dropped the comedy, straight horror again. That's why they're making more.

reply

I really liked Curse. Looking forward to 7

because fans want another one and another. Chucky is the only 80s slasher villain that has made it into this decade, is played by the same actor, & still keeps things fairly fresh. thats a big achievement.

Curse of Chucky played it straight. it will always have some humor to it, because thats who Chucky is.

would be a bad idea to do a remake and have Chucky being super serious or completely silent, for the sake of attempting to be scarier.

moreso because Chucky will only be played by Brad Dourif.no sense in doing a remake because the first film still works. the sequels may have gone into different directions, but thats the sequels, not the original. no remake of the past 10 years has been successful enough to make for more sequels.

Annabelle was such a poor film.definitely do not want Chucky going that route.

The Halloween remake had a sequel

reply

yes it did and it bombed horribly. enough to put the franchise on hiatus for 7 years. during that time the studio intentionally did not want a Halloween film made.
the remake only got made because Moustapha Akkad wasnt around anymore. had he still been alive to this day, we would have probably been at Halloween 14 by now.

in this instance its Don Mancini at the helm. he is probably gonna keep on making Chucky movies till he's in the grave.

I honestly like both Rob Zombie films. But i can't wait to see what Carpenter does with it, since he's back.

reply

Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street remakes were going to have sequels. Friday the 13th sequel was delayed because New Line and Paramount issues with the rights to franchise. Nightmare fans were complaining about Freddy Krueger being played by Jackie. They want Robert Englund to return as Freddy. Even though the man is near 70.

reply

Annabelle??? That was garbage

reply

I know, but compared to the last few Chucky movies it's like a masterpiece.

reply

The reason for another one is because not everything has been cleared up. Chucky probably still wants revenge on a lot of people from his past Besides nica and her family. Like Karen and Mike,Kyle,Desilva,Tyler,Jesse and Jade and most Definitely Andy.

reply

Because Curse was awesome.

MIGHT GET HATE FOR THIS:

TBH, chucky 6 was pretty okay. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. The thing is, the awful music, too many mistakes like the green coloured eyeball that falls and changes to blue, also looked like crippled plastic and also Brad Dourif who did NOT look young at all. ALSO, the music was awfuc**ngful, I mean seriously who uses electric guitars in a horror film climax?!?!

I want the 7th Part to answer the questions at the end of COC. At the same time, I also want it to be more horror, creepy, and more like a REAL horror thriller, and somehow, maybe be the ending of this quality-deteriorated franchise, but be the best film in the franchise and include a definitive conclusion.
