People I want on the show (a mostly realistic list)

Dave Attell, Adam Carolla, Conan, Andy Richter, Craig Ferguson, Bill Burr, Sarah Silverman, Bob and David, Brian Posehn, Dana Gould, Garfunkel and Oates, Paul Scheer, Greg Fitzsimmons, Jackie Martling, Gilbert Gottfried, most Daily Show cast members past and present, Blake Anderson, Harry Shearer, Jimmy Kimmel, Jim Rash, Steven Wright

That's a decent list. I think Key and Peele should be in an episode. Aziz Ansari would be good at it. And it probably won't happen, but I'd like to see Norm McDonald on there.

Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true!

Norm is the best but I think him and guys like Artie have had a prejudice against the "who's line" type of comedy so that what's makes me think it's unlikely. I'd love him to prove me wrong though, just going on what I remember hearing them say. Hate it when comedians I like don't get along because it's always magic when my favorites get together in a live format.

One name missing from that list is Wil Wheaton. While he's not really a comedian, he may be internet savvy enough and just funny enough to not embarrass himself.

I would also like to see them do "theme shows" like having the cast of Bob's Burgers (Eugene Mirman and Kristen Schaal have already been on) or South Park (Matt and Trey and Bill Hader(?)). Having Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert go up against John Oliver when John's new HBO show starts would be great, too. Maybe if they bring it on the road to NYC.

I would love to see some theme shows. Mr. Show reunion anyone?

I like the theme idea, especially with "South Park" being a Comedy Central show.
And although it would be a pipe dream I'd love a "Weekend Update" version with Tina Fey, Seth Meyers, and Colin Quinn.

Not sure Conan, Ferguson or Kimmel could make it on (time interference), but Andy could easily take a night off. Scheer has already been on (twice). I'd want Rob Riggle (although I guess that goes under Daily Show alumni).

Other people I'd want: Jason Mantzoukas, JB Smoove, anyone from Whose Line, Jon Lajoie, Bill Hader, TJ Miller, Aziz Ansari, Jim Gaffigan, Will Sasso, Rachael Harris (again that probably goes with Daily Show alumni), Chris Elliott, Kevin Hart, Michael Ian Black, Kevin Smith, Nick Kroll, Stephen Rannazzisi, Casey Wilson, Marc Maron, Nick Swardson, Adam Pally, uh... other people?

One thing I would like to see, is have someone else guest host and have Chris compete himself.

I know Chris said his dream guest is Tom Hanks. Doubt that would happen, but who knows? Weirdly enough, Colin Hanks seems to have broken in with these types of people in the last few years, having done Comedy Bang Bang, Ghost Girls, Happy Endings and Key & Peele. Does he do stand up?

reply

I'm just happy Weird Al will be on tonight.

reply

He won.

As far as Tom Hanks goes, he did have a cameo in the most recent Greatest Event in Television History, so I suppose anything is possible.

reply

Tom Hanks did appear on Hardwick's podcast twice, so it's not outside the realm of possibility that he could appear on @midnight. As for Garfunkel and Oates, Riki Lindhome actually appeared as a contestant already. I'd personally like to see Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Mel Brooks, Donald Glover, George Takei (that one might be a bit of a stretch, though, seeing as how he already owns the Internet), any of the guys from Monty Python (not at the same time, seeing as how they just pronounced the troupe dead), Kat Dennings, and Anna Kendrick (who actually shares the top spot of my "want to see" list with Takei - if you've ever seen Kendrick's Twitter feed, you'll know what I mean).
