What happened?

I felt like the movie had a good idea and good writing, and then something happened and they couldn't finish it correctly.

Am I the only one that felt like most of the pieces were there but then the whole process was rushed? It had odd edits and uneventful plot points. Just weird.

I loved Excision so I'm giving Mr Bates the benefit of the doubt and saying he was rushed on this.
