Woah (in best Keanu voice)...she finally did it. Kat Dennings did a horror movie. Noice. Why am I only finding out about this now?
And what's wrong with her playing a raging slut? Us dudes are allowed to be sluts, so how about a little equality and less conservative double standard douchiness, people? I always find it...disappointing on sites like this where people criticize female celebs, especially young ones, for partying, "bad decisions", rebellion, etc, yet their male contemporaries evade this judgment somehow and get a free pass. Because its expected of guys? Ummm... Something wrong with that. Just calling it how I see it. If that makes me a "male feminist" or whatever (I kind of aspire to be the male Demi Lovato lol), so be it.
But yeah, nothing wrong with Kat playing "sluts". Hoping she shows lots of skin (and there goes my male feminist card out the window...damn, you just can't pigeonhole me, you can only hope to contain me lol Its more liberating to not be a stereotype - try it), as that will possibly be the only saving grace of this movie. Hey, I like horror, but we all know how much crap there is out there, too. Just wish she'd show her legs more in movies. I'd sacrifice 20% of her boob showing for 20% more leg showing. Yeah, I'm straight up loco like that. A loose cannon. Its a Russian Roulette type gamble, but I'm willing to make it. I believe in her sexiness.
Anyone else find it an interesting career choice that she's never done a horror movie (correct me if I'm wrong) before this one? Are there any other actresses as "big" as her who went so long without doing horror? I'd even thought of making a topic about it on her imdb board (but alas I was too lazy...or just didn't care enough...unlike now apparently lol). Makes me wonder if she doesn't like horror. Maybe she's too easily scared in real life? Could be any reason, I guess, for her to mostly avoid them. Would be a shame if she didn't like horror movies, though. I imagine it'd be nice seeing a horror movie in the theater with her and her cuddling up against you, all cushiony :-)
But anyway, most young actresses have to pay their dues by doing at least some horror whether they want to or not. Just to get their foot in the door in this biz. Since a lot of times minimal acting talent is required, I guess. Just good looks. So I guess more power to her for not having to take that path and making it in the biz her own way. Either that or she's got someone pulling strings for her. Hey, I'd pull her (bikini) strings... ;-) And with that bad joke (hey, its late and I'm tired and horny lol), I'm out...to look for this movie.
And seriously, don't slut shame or stereotype people. Its easy to judge, but hard to take time to try and understand. Rewarding though. Peace.
