Why so much hate?

I was genuinely surprised by all the Pete Holmes hate mail on these boards. I just found out the show is canceled and came here to find out when and where the protest was going to be held.

There is only one possible explanation for this and I know many people reading are not going to like it. Pete Holmes is a master in a completely new type of comedy; that it took me a while to pick up on. I would call his style, "Brutally ucking honest" and unfortunately, brutal ucking honesty scares a lot of people.

He is one of the only comedic acts that I know I'm genuinely a better person for having seen. As he has pointed out in the past on his show, if you can't laugh at yourself, there's going to be problems.

Mr. Peety Poopy Pants, you're A+ in my book and I know this universe will be ready for you soon. Until then, let those picks grow long and email me as soon as you get that counselor position.

I'll bring the fiyah!

James :D

Because we are living in an age where if you don't like something, you have to *beep* all over it instead of ignoring it and moving on with your life.

This was the only time I've ever liked a talk show from start to finish. The non-topical monologue was always good to great. And how nice to not have weak Kardashian/Chris Christie topical tripe like everyone else?

Haters are going to hate. Let them enjoy their Big Bang Theory reruns.

New Material Seinfeld is my favorite bit. Ever.

New Material Seinfeld was indeed hilarious. I find TBS's excuse for cancellation to be pretty ridiculous. "Insufficient audience numbers", really? The show was already low-budget, and was still really new. Apparently if 5 million people don't watch a show that you don't even advertise, it's a failure. Gotta love dumbass suits making bone-headed decisions...

I knew something was up after there was no mention of the show after that last episode aired and rather than show reruns, they put reruns of The Office in its spot. Initially I thought it was the end of the season and Pete was taking a break, but nope -_-. *beep* the haters, Pete's monologues and aptly-named brutal honesty were my favorite aspects of the show. I was never bored with a single episode, and the fact that it was only a half-hour format made it even more watchable. R.I.P.

I'm still pissed about it. That show was funny, a lot funnier than the weak BS Comedy Central keeps producing. Hell, it was a lot better than Conan. It just seems like there are a group of professional haters out there trying to ruin everything good. I see a good movie and I check the IMDb page and it has hundreds of negative reviews. Look at the reviews of classic films like the Godfather and Casablanca. When did it become cool to be a cynical, overly critical pile of dogcrap? Did someone unleash a generation of monsters? Shows like Community, Pete Holmes, and Parks and Rec get limited runs with next to no audience and the Big stupid ass Bang Theory keeps limping along with its laugh track.
