How to convince my dad to watch Idiot Abroad

My dad loves Karl in the Moaning of Life so, for Christmas, I thought it would be nice to open his eyes to An Idiot Abroad however he is adamant not to watch it as he "hates" Ricky. Fair enough but he doesn't seem to realise that he's only in each episode for the first five minutes (max) and that it is almost exactly the same sort of material as in the Moaning of Life.

Any ideas how I can convince him? Maybe one particular episode which is almost completely sans Ricky?

I know he'll love it but he's just so stubborn!
