Karl driving in America

I was very impressed with how casually Karl was driving in Las Vegas. He must have spent a lot of time in the states (?) but when?

reply

Well, he's travelled a lot in all of his shows and he seems to enjoy driving himself rather than being chauffeured around.
I imagine he's just had to adjust to a lot of different situations when driving, especially in the very highly populated areas with less defined road safety laws.

reply

Don't you mean you're surprised he wasn't complaining how bad people in los angeles drive? haha you would think karl could get pretty negative behind the wheel. I myself wanted to hear about how he felt about american cars and trucks, size and power wise.

When Karl was driving it seemed like it was during mid day, as there was no bumper to bumper traffic. I don't think he was driving during rush hour. Karl has driven in London, which I assume is also bad. Plus compared places like India and China, driving in LA is not bad. Thats why you never see Karl drive in those places. I think he really enjoys driving in the open and I think he also mentioned that in RGS.

yeah India must be the worst drive ever

India, India. that's luxury.

Just try driving in Italy or Malta. Or the M62 at junction 17 at around 4.50pm. India will seems like a sumptuous dream of motoring splendour!

reply

People drive well in Los Angeles, there's just too much traffic.

Driving on the opposite side of the road isn't bad until you get to an intersection, then you really have to think it out. Also I was driving in the Caribbean so the cars were American so I didn't have deal with everything being on the opposite side.
