OK but major plot hole (spoiler)

Not a bad film, spoiled a bit by the impossibility of what was presumably meant to be the main twist.

It was a series of unexpected events during the heist that led to the gang hijacking that bus at that moment. Couldn't be planned.

But it turns out to be crucial to the plot that the gang gets on that particular bus with the money. Cost it a star for me. 5/10.

Exactly what I thought.

They reached the bus with seconds to spare, and a number of random events caused it.

Not a bad film anyway.

It was preplanned by JDM and his sister, hence the act of being pregnant. From the time of the robbery to plan B if that happened which happened. As soon as the see Macroni fleeing, He says this way and runs towards the Bus stop.He had already planned to pass on the money to her, so that it could reach the Hospital before 7:00. She was probably carrying a sack for the 300.000 to be paid towards Riley's treatment. This is how I assume.

The sister was his getaway plan all along, he never intended to get into the getaway car with the driver. After the getaway driver does a runner he decides to take the guys on his getaway to the bus route, his sister also delayed the bus by trying to swipe the card a lot of times before paying in quarters. I think were meant to believe she smuggled the entire 3 million off the bus also as there was no money left on the bus at the end, but I think 3 million would be a bit bigger than a pregnant womans belly.

How could that part of been planned as he had no way of knowing the driver would drive off, if he had stayed where he was then they would of got into the car and drove off no?

read what you just replied to

The bus was his plan all along. His pregnant sis was only a contingency in case the the getaway driver chickened out, which happened. If the driver did not chicken out, JDM would have split the cash at the dock and taken the bus anyway, meeting his sister, who would have been there anyway, for a comfy drive home. Not that hard to understand.

It's a fair point. Still, it only makes sense if you plan to make a movie off that. No one in real life would have banked on such a ridiculous plan B when you can easily park another car around the block in case the first one isn't there when you expect it. It's still a hundred times safer than hikacking a city bus where all bets are gonna be off the minute you get on it.

he wasnt planning on hijacking it, just riding it

Did he have other contigency plans for other eventualities? Or did he have specific doubts about the nerve of the driver? If so that should have been shown in the set up.

reply

He stated in the restaurant that he would be going his own way and not with the other three. He planned his own escape route but unfortunately with the driver taking off he had to bring the other two clowns with him. He knew the bus schedule as it's the one that he took when he got off shift then made arrangements for his sister to delay the bus by being slow depositing her money and her card not working. He also specifically directed Batista to wait until 330 rather than 3 AM. This would give him time to catch the bus since he knew the schedule

reply

But he would not have had enough time to take his 1 million cut from the bag (it takes time to count it)

He only just made the bus, and not at a bus stop they had to hijack it.

I can only think he was getting in that car, and get driven to a bus stop to make up time to divide the money.

Also why does he even need his sister for? if everything went smoothly with the robbery, no one would even have persued him and he would have just walked on the bus nonchalantly and taken the money to the hospital himself.
