Elimination confusion...

If... they didn't like the body of the puppet because the actor couldn't maneuver/ breathe, then why did they eliminate the person who did the face? I don't understand the judge's decision on this one. Any other opinions?

The design was a potential deathtrap but apparently a poor facial design trumps that.

I doin't even get why the face was bad... it was just as believable as Sweetum's or Cookie Monster or... well, ANY Muppet character with a giant mouth. That face was the best part of the creature, the body was so poor it could've possibly caused the puppeteer major harm... and i want it noted, for the record, the guy responsible for that is the guy that won (Which makes even less sense when you go through the wins/losses overall and realise that Robert only won 1 other challenge, while Ben won 3, and never almost suffocated someone)

reply

It's not about how many times you win, dear!

It's about getting yourself to the finals without getting eliminated and winning that last challenge!

Duh!

(Besides, that guy Ben was a douche and him winning would have been disappointing!)

i found it confusing in general that they applied the term "that looks like a muppet" as if it was a bad thing.

a) what classic hanson creature does not look like a muppet? no matter if it's labyrinth, dark crystal or even farscape. they all have that "Muppet flavor". some more, some less.

b) when did they mention that they should not look muppet-esque?

c) how about telling some unexperienced designers that they have to keep the puppeteer in mind to begin with?

reply

Yeah you'd think that since the company they're trying to get into made the Muppets that having a character look like a Muppet would be a plus, hell that's what you're going to have to design for them at some point! They never mentioned to not make it look muppet-esque, that wasn't a criteria. Frankly I'm willing to bet that had the body not been so awful, and almost suffocated a guy, that team wouldn't have even been considered for elimination.

reply

100% agreed.
