Harrowing, devastating and beautiful film.

This film is a emotionally draining experience (in a good way). Such a nuanced and understated performance by the lead actress, smart and sensitive storytelling makes the impact even stronger, one of the best films of the year and a hidden gem!

I Agree 100%

A flawless Film.

It is emotionally draining but I don't think it is in a good way.

I think they could have done without some scenes and have expressed what had happened in many other ways.

I disagree that they should have done it without those scenes. This is the brutality of rape and it still is glossed over in many countries.

Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful.

This is the REALITY in the world. World of men! We live in a patriarchal system. In many societies and countries women in that position is seemed as guilty! Even in the developed countries... Remember the movie ACCUSED.. Judie Foster'a lawyer defended her by really struggling in the court, and in the end all of the rapest creatures found to be guilty.

What i didn't understand is that why so many boys were at Gong-ju's house?
And what happened to Doon Ju's face we saw in one of the very first flashbacks?
