Sorry, but I don't buy this film's premise

I like Tom Hanks, but I find it impossible to believe that some pilot actually crashed a plane into the Hudson river and there were no fatalities. I'm sure this probably a good movie, given the fact that Clint Eastwood is the director and Tom Hanks is the star and also Aaron Eckhart who I love too, but I think the entire premise for this movie is nonsensical and dumb. I'm seeing this movie Sunday night with one of my friends, so I'll wait until then to make a final judgment.

I agree. I mean: Tom Hanks worked with NASA in the TV series "From earth to the moon" even when we all know that the moon landing is a hoax (look at the leaked outtake reels from the moon landing on YouTube).
Later Hanks worked with NASA to glorify Apollo 13 that in real life happened on a sound stage.

Now faking a fake landing on the Hudson. Come On. No one believes that happened in real life.

Pro wrestling is more logical and real than this fiction. Fake sports more real than fake Tom Hanks.

reply

What??? Are you saying the moon landing was fake? That's absurd. Have you seen the countless interviews with Buzz Aldrin that obviously proved that it happened?

It sounds like someone doesn't have a sarcasm detector.

reply

Nevermind a sarcasm detector, that the least of his problems if he truly believes the plane landing wasn't real.

Next he'll be claiming the towers never really fell, that it was all a massive stunt pulled off by Michael Bay who was hired by the government to help start a war to steal oil.

reply

It would seem the person missing the sarcasm detector is you, skiop. All of the first three posts were sarcastic.

reply

I saw the entire thing unfold right in front of my very eyes. So yes, it happened. And no, there were no fatalities.

reply

I'm not disparaging the movie at all, and like I said, I think it's probably great and I look forward to seeing it Sunday. But is there any video footage of it? I still find it hard to believe that an airplane would just be able to smash into a NYC river and there wouldn't be more media coverage. If you can link videos with proof, I'll change my mind.

reply

Proof? Again, I saw it happen. Through my apartment window on 43rd and 11th. After it hit the drink, like so many others, I rushed out to the pier.

I imagine someone must taken video, but I didn't (No video camera or cell phone with video capability). I did snap some pics on a crappy point and shoot.

reply

Okay I trust you. Was there chaos when you saw it? I couldn't imagine the panic in that situation.

Dude - there is a ton of stuff about this event on the internet. Did you really think it didn't happen?

Do you know anything about Sully's background (prior to this incident). He was an exceptionally experienced pilot and instructor certified (had also worked on airplane accident investigations when in the Air Force). He was one of the best pilots to have in the cockpit that day.

Maybe you can answer a question for me.

Are you just being a trolling asshat, or are you really this fraking stupid?

This film is based on a REAL EVENT.
It happened you ignorant sh!t-for-brains.

All I'm doing is raising some suspicion and asking the hard questions, just as any hard news journalist would. It's stupid to just blindly believe everything the news says.

reply

No you are not. You are trolling. and being a complete ass.

This event was widely covered and widely witnessed.

It isnt sonething manufactured by the media.

If you really think that, then you are as fraking stupid as the moronic conspiracy retards.

WTF? Really? Where are you from?

Okay, but sorry I didn't research this and, like most Americans, didn't even know that it even happened. To me it just seemed that that the movie is completely phony. But again, I'll read more and see it on Sunday.

You are wrong about that. Ask any American about "miracle on the Hudson" and they will immediately know what you are referring to.

reply

Where were you when this happened? In a coma for a month or two? This was internationaal news not just New York/New Jersey.

reply

I doubt that it was reported by the media at all, at least not very much. If the story is true--which I'm now again beginning to doubt--it should have been front page news.

Okay, but don't you admit that the media could have fabricated the story to increase ratings? Polls show that newspapers are struggling and that the news media in general are losing audiences.

And again I ask, "Where were you when this happened"?

reply

Of course it was reported in the media, I live in New Zealand for gods sake and I still remember seeing it reported. This was hardly just a small local news story.

Nah, I've seen better trolling than this. The noob has a lot to learn.

This will be the only comment or reply you'll get. Like I give a sh!t about YOUR interwebz opinion.

reply

Give us an example.
Because I genuinely think this guy is funny as hell and is always good natured in his jokes compared to other fanboy trolls on IMDb.

If you are shooting for all the finger gestures that are printable in refined company,

then do not forget The Flying Fickle Finger of Fate.

reply

You're such a cynic, you would believe the incident was faked if you were in the pilot's seat.

This picture contains no physical depiction of the Godhead.

reply

Yes, there was a widely circulated security cam footage of the plane landing in the Hudson. What do you conspiracy nuts think, they loaded a plane onto a barge and dropped it into the water then had 155 people climb onto the wings from boats and thats how come new footage showed all those people. Guess they also faked the radio transmissions from the controler to the flight crew.
