Movie Rating

This movie seems to have no rating.
I thought it looked interesting, but am curious where you think it would fit in the ratings (G, PG, PG-13, R) with Language, Sex, and Violence.

Thanx.

reply

I saw it last night. There was no sex or nudity, there was no violence (only a person bleeding in a Fargo clip that was shown a few times), and I don't remember hearing any harsh language. I imagine it could be rated as low as a PG, although the subject matter is decidedly more adult and I can't see anyone preteen enjoying it. Maybe PG13.

Thanx for the response on content.

Also, do you have to read most of the movie (seems like it in the trailer)? And is it funny at all?

reply

When she is in Japan, that is all subtitled. Also, there are a couple of calls to home when she is in America - those are subtitled as well. Overall, I would say the majority of the movie was in English.

How/where did you see it? I can't figure out how I can watch it.

IMDb is the almighty, superior, purple leader.

I'm not sure where you live, but I am lucky enough to live in L.A., where it is not a problem trying to find any movie theaters showing foreign/independent films. That said, even in LA area, there are only a few theaters that are showing it. And though it was released this weekend in other cities, it is still not showing on many screens.

If you do live near LA, I saw it at the Nuart in West LA last week. Today, I watched it again in Pasadena at the Laemmle Playhouse.

reply

Yeah I don't live in California and can't find it anywhere near me, but thanks for the info!

I was surprised the theater I saw this at listed it as rated R. Not a clue where that came from

It's rated G for General Audience in Toronto. There's a few tense moments but no violence, nudity or strong language. I cannot imagine any kids or teens wanting to see it, because it's a typical indie movie with a microbudget, no superheroes, and more than half is subtitled.
