I saw it this afternoon at the Lagoon Cinema in Uptown Minneapolis and rather liked it. It's a moody and thoughtful movie, and the young lady is marvelous in it. The ending doesn't work (and that's not a spoiler) but the overall style and manner in which the film is made is terrific. It made me want to see Fargo again and to watch Nebraska, a movie it resembles.

Regarding all the comments about Fargo being a true story. It is not a true story, because no one remembers that murder case. Beyond that, the Coen Brothers are from St. Louis Park, MN and the characters are named after people they went to high school with. W.H. Macy and Frances MacDormand have both performed at the Guthrie, and a lot of the actors in it are also local.
