Selfish Kumiko

Kumiko was SO selfish. She screwed so many people over - Like her boss, for example (which I can almost forgive because he was terrible) but I'm mostly talking about the cab driver and hotel employee in particular. I was rooting for her at first since I know what it's like to be depressed and a master of self-sabotage but god, it was so hard to wish her well when she didn't seem to care about anyone but herself. Nobody she ran into on her journey deserved what she did to them.

One of my least favorite protagonists in a film in a while, though I will say that Rinko Kikuchi was amazing. Such an excellent performance.

There's nothing the least bit funny about stealing a meal from Neal McBeal the Navy SEAL.

Don't be foolish. You know as well as I do that when Kumiko and Bunzo took off at the end of the movie that they were going to return the way they came so that they could generously over reimburse all debts accrued along the way.

Right on! If they make a sequel, "Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter II" I'm sure they will do precisely that, and then proceed to hunt for more treasure!

LOL, well said. Some people are living in their little bubble, and only choose to see things one-sidedly.
