I surprisingly loved this movie (spoilers)

I found this movie by browsing through Netflix and I honestly thought that it would be one of those movies that I would end up turning off with in the first 15 min but once I started seeing faces and names that a recognized, I decided to give it a shot and I loved it. I'm not really into watching movies about young black gangsters and thugs because I see that enough in real life, which makes me sick so I'm definitely not interested in sitting through 2 hours of the same old b.s and TBH those movies are played out anyway but after watching this, I was pleasantly surprised. I got so into the story that I hated to see the movie end. However, I did have one problem, which was the ending. I know that the surprise ending was suppose to be shocking and totally unexpected but I have a problem with this presumably straight laced kid with so much going for him, who lives a presumably privileged life, suddenly throwing all of that away in a scheme to become a murderer because someone shot up his cousin and his crew. That was a little over the top for me. Otherwise I thought the movie was great.
