I think the Christmas Special showed marked approval.

I liked series 1, but I do admit I felt it was weighed down by the series-arc of the seemingly failing relationship.

The Christmas Special had no overarcing theme to weigh it down, and the result was a much more enjoyable easy-hearted viewing. I loved it.

I hope series 2 will be just as good. Please...no need for a "theme".
