I found out my now-ex boyfriend was on the Love Me site+

Of course I immediately dumped him and moved out.

He had paid hundreds of dollars to "talk" to these green-card seeking fembots (if indeed they were real women at all).

We were having issues anyway, b/c in fact he was a control-freak, marijuana smoking (EVERY DAY) pathetic loser who couldn't deal with a woman who he could not control.

He's a chubby, arrogant, know-it-all, blowhard narcissist who is on multiple medications for his "personality issues".

I got a chance to read through some of the emails that went back and forth and these "women" were calling him "my king" and "my dream."

Before I met him, I had watched the documentary and had a mixture of contempt and pity for the men. The one common thread was that these men thought women from their own countries were too "difficult" (read: the stand up for themselves)
and they were constantly rejected.

I was so grossed out and hurt by my ex's presence on there I left within 2 hours of finding the emails on his computer.

I'm pretty sure I read your post about this incident yesterday on another message board I read... not mentioning it for the sake of anonymity but I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. I don't know if you'll read this, but I am so sorry that you're going through this. Your ex sounds like an ass and like he is completely insecure. I'm sorry you had to find out about his bad side in such a traumatic way.

These websites definitely prey on men who are insecure by fleecing them out of tons of money (for sending and receiving messages). I definitely think most of the "women" on the website who are sending out messages are either actually people working for the company, or are getting a cut of the however much it costs to send and receive those messages.

I'm sure it hurts so much to have found out about your ex's dark side in such a traumatic manner. I know that in time you will look back on this and realize that the day you found out was the beginning of a new and fantastic chapter of your life. Please take care of yourself and your health! I hope you find peace and happiness in your life very soon.

This whole industry is a fraud on all sides- the website, the women posting on the website, and the American men soliciting these women. No one is being honest. They're all just taking advantage of each other in different ways.

THANKS! And I appreciate the anonymity. I wanted to post here as well as a warning to other women that this stuff happens on sites other than typical dating sites.

That really stinks. I am so sorry. No one should have to find out they are being cheated on like this and at the holidays. Wishing you a happy and peaceful new year and an eventual meeting with someone worthy of your time and love.

Uh, that would be true, except some of the people actually do fall in love and get married. Basically its a rip-off for clueless guys who think they will meet some model that would want to be with them, if they are fat or have no money or who knows what. If you are a decently normal guy with some things going for yourself, lots of girls might be interested for completely genuine reasons. (As if women don't marry for money in America lol)

Its only a scam for the guys guillable and clueless enough to think the best looking model on the site will come marry them if they have very little to offer, as 1 guy in the film was that delusional, maybe 2 (the fat guy and michael the australian). 2 others were in love though and got married so its not all a scam. Dating in America could be said to be a scam too from all the women that want to marry for money etc. Love is a scam lol

The sites are both good and bad, the legitimate ones do serve a purpose however.

Yeah but the guy from texas who married the tall blonde chick - didn't he say he's been over there like a dozen times on these trips and dated something like 38 girls already from the site? He didn't see all that rich to be spending over a hundred grand easy to try and find the right one, although I do believe that they were the cutest couple. The chick with the braces marrying the Cali guy seemed like not too much of a gold digger too.

The Michael thing definitely creeped me out and I really wondered about the few weird seconds of dynamic I saw with him and the girls and that's something single mothers ALWAYS need to look out for. Especially since the older daughter is like hotter than 99% of any supermodel I've ever seen!

Just wondering what all the guys are up to now, and hoping for their hearts' sake and the sake of their wallets that they are doing better and happily married.

The dairy farmer really made me sad. He knew in his gut something wasn't right and I read on here he went through the marriage anyway, they both got arrested and then put their house up for sale. Makes me sad. He was just a poor lonely soul living life so far away from any opportunity to meet women. I felt like he should have been on match.com for pete's sake. 😖

VERY VERY sorry to hear this, doll. Good on you for getting the hell out of there ASAP! Good luck in your future relationships and don't let it get you down. Most guys I know and am friends with fantasize about Russian mail order brides. Three have admitted to going on those cruises. They are all celebrity types I can't mention, but one had a terrible time and told me all about it and the other has been married to his girl (who is a good friend of mine, too), but they have had a horrible tumultuous time and we all know she only married him for his status and deep pockets. I hope that happens to your ex and they take him for all he's got! Good riddance to him. xo
