One of my all time favorite books!

I've been reading this series since grade school! (I'm pushing 60, now, but they never get old!)
Just saw the movie, and cant really complain - Whoever wrote the screenplay obviously cared very deeply about staying faithful to the book.
I hope they make the rest of the original books that Ms. Chandler wrote herself - especially "Surprise island" and "The yellow house mystery."

Just saw this on the list of new Netflix titles. Instantly brought back some fond memories. In grade school I read most of the original 19 as I recall. I still remember the first one quite well as I read it many times. I had no idea they were still being written. There are well over a hundred now, by various authors.

I'll definitely have to check out the film. Might have to get a copy of the book too. Fun trip down memory lane. Another one I'd like to read again is 'My Side of the Mountain'. I used to read Jean Craighead George books all the time. 'Julie of the Wolves' and 'Summer of the Falcon' were my favorites.

This book series is also one my all time favorites as well!! I have read soooo many of them. I even like to listen to them online from our public library. The movie was pretty spot on from the book although I wasn't too excited about the graphics. I've always wished they could make a live action series even if it was a tv series after the first big movie. Glad it was pretty much to the book though.

OMG, I can't believe I just randomly stumbled across this!! The Boxcar Children is one of the greatest children's book series--along with The Baby-Sitters Club, Goosebumps, and Sweet Valley Kids/Twins/High/University. I read the whole series! Used to get a new one every week when I went food-shopping at PathMark with my mom and grandma. So sad that they had to give away so many of my beloved books and toys. ;; But yes, it's a super series. I have a lot of favorite titles. And the cover art is awesome. All four series I mentioned have the greatest cover art ever, actually.

The little Mary Kate & Ashley detective stories were cute, too, but couldn't touch the Boxcar Children.

So obviously I'm gonna watch this on Netflix. The animation looks pretty bad, honestly, but I guess it was low-budget. Wish they could have made it a bigger production and done traditional; that would have been a better fit. But, apparently it's charming enough to make up for any visual deficit. I'll give it a shot.

ETA: I started watching it before on Netflix. The animation is very low-budget and looks unfinished, the kids don't look right (especially the girls)...the voices don't sound like what I always imagined, either...but at the same time, I appreciate the effort at bringing the first book to animated life. Not baaaad. They tried their best to capture the spirit of it with the little they obviously had to work with.

But wait, why is Watch an Airedale? He's supposed to be a Wire Fox Terrier!

I read this when I was in kindergarten. I am 28 now. I stumbled into this treasure tonight at target and watched with my two young nephews and they loved it. The first book was my favorite.
