Just seen the trailer on Apple Trailers... how can something so ugly exist? Even Albanian animation made better 3D cartoons 15 years ago! Is it a joke?

shareI believe that's on purpose. The animation looks very much like the illustrations you'd see in a book rather than animation you'd see in a film. Watching this movie is very much like watching the pages of a book come alive. My children and I loved it. I just wish there was more of this available for families to watch. It is so sweet and innocent and just wonderful.
We need a lot less of the Shrek-type movies (made for kids, but let's throw in a bunch of potty humor and sexual innuendo to keep the adults interested) which end up NOT being for kids at all and MORE movies like this.
Even with much of the dialog modernized from the original text and a few extra scenes to add more suspense, it was still so true to the spirit of the original book. Impressive!

I am new to this movie and watched it with my 7yr old daughter. I found it to be one of my favorite animated movies ever - absolutely love this special gentle treasure!!!!
