That Lahey started doing coke and Cyrus and Sam were secretly dealing it on the side. That's the critics main argument that marijauna is a gateway to harder drugs.
shareI made a post on the other board how it was good that the show stopped glorifying coke after the pilot and never once mentioned it again!!... So yeah I agree its a bit of a sell out IMO.

I got the impression Sam was dealing it on the side without Cyrus's knowledge, I wasnt certain though, maybe he was just distancing himself from the deal. Also I didnt see it as glorifying cocaine, if anything it was a cautionary tale, Lahey turned on the one person he loved when he got hooked on the white liquor, seems obvious his character would get hooked on anything he tries, he has a very addictive personality, of all the characters on the show even though he does smoke weed Lahey is least known for it, if you want to throw around words like gateway (I hate the term gateway drugs) then liquor if anything was his gateway.

I was disappointed in seeing the hard drugs angle too but unlike haynes-2 I believe it is a gateway drug. In fact I know of some people who have been in my life and out of it who definitely are doing more than the weed they started out with.
As for the biggest disappointment with the TPB though lately was season 8 .... last episode was the only good one.
