Why is this film not getting wider distribution in the U.S.?

I drove over two hours to see this film in Williamsburg, VA, the other night, having missed an opportunity to see it in Wilmington, DE (two hours in a different direction) earlier this summer. It is not perfect, by any means, but it is a solid effort that to date has received a 94 percent favorable rating from Rotten Tomatoes. It should be of interest to a lot of people who are not going to get a chance to see it in theaters, at the rate things are going. Anyone who can remember the classic Australian films of the 70s and 80s, especially those that involved David Gulpilil, should be interested. (For some reason, it seems as if fewer Aussie products have been arriving on these shores in recent years. I can't remember the last time I saw anything by, say, Paul Cox.) Further, given the recent controversies concerning the treatment of ethnic minorities by the authorities in this country, a lot of people potentially might be interested in a film that explores how it is an issue, not just in Ferguson, MO, but also halfway around the world in Darwin, NT.
