Why such a low rating?

I was disappointed with the abrupt ending, but the acting was great. I as really compelled by the transformation. Plus it's nice to see women who are sex workers depicted in a sympathetic light without being too stereotypical.

It also did a good job of showing how abusers control people and how those who are under the control of someone can by like hypnotized by them and stay with them. It takes someone who really cares to get someone out of a bad situation like that.

Yes, the ending needed a lot more -- but up to that point it was very good. NOT a women's weepie, which is often what people have been trained to expect and then think is true about women. But I have had people tell me how much they LOVE weepies, and want women to conform to them in and out of film . . . so perhaps that is reason it has a low rating.
